Rebranding Strategically Authentic as The Katie Moments

Rebranding Strategically Authentic as The Katie Moments

Okay, “rebrand” is probably a stretch, but sounds way cooler than “moving to a new URL” right?!

Reason 1:  Dog head tilts are cute, but human head tilts are not a good sign

Human head tilts are unfortunately way subtler than our furry friends, but mean the same thing ”What?”  Something you are saying is not clicking.   If you want that person to remember or understand, you need a different approach.

As I started talking more about my blog, I noticed too many head tilts with the name; however, after I explained what Strategically Authentic means to me and my purpose they were all in.  A name needs to click to be memorable, and no matter how much I love Strategically Authentic, it was not clicking.

Reason 2:  Twitter names need to be 15 characters or less

Although I enjoy writing longer, more thoughtful pieces, I also love a witty one-liner or meme.  That stuff is perfect for social media.

When I went to set up my Twitter Account (already had my Instagram), I discovered Twitter handles have a 15 character limit.  Strategically Authentic is 22.  I am no social media expert by any means, but confident no one would ever look for StrategicallyAu.

Serendipitously The Katie Moments is exactly 15 characters!

Why The Katie Moments?

A “Katie moment” is what friends call my unique experiences.  Common themes include:

  • When my common sense sadly falls short
  • Weird things that happen to me
  • Seeing / reading a situation or person differently
  • Using colorful analogies to explain things
  • My childlike exhuberenxe about something (eg Rapid Egg Cooker)

Humility is core to my strategically authentic operating style, and includes sharing these moments.  The name changed, but my purpose for this blog remains the same – to positively impact others through laughter, understanding and knowledge sharing.
