Many moons ago I had a boss who said I had a “childlike exuberance” and it that perfectly describes how I feel toward my rapid egg cooker. It was one of the reasons I knew I needed an “other” area for my blog, and felt appropriate to be my first post!
The reason for my excitement
Hard boiled eggs are a staple in my breakfast, but I used to buy them because I got so frustrated making them myself. This was not for lack of trying, but more just acceptance of a personal shortcoming! Side note, how are there so many “recipes” for something with only one ingredient?!
The discovery
Buzzfeed periodically does a “best products to buy” piece. Usually I just scroll through with a nope…weird…seriously people but that?.., and the rapid egg cooker went in the “interesting” bucket the first few times I saw it. On the third time, I clicked through to Amazon an saw it had over 25k and was still at a 4.9 rating. What?!? For $16 it felt worth a shot.
The magic
You put a pin hole in each egg bottom, load them up, add water to the hard boil line and plug it in. It makes a chiming sound when done and just pop them in ice water (with a capful of vinegar to make for easier peeling) – done!
The takeaway
Childlike exuberance is amazing. I just got you to read three paragraphs on a random kitchen appliance because of it!
